It seems that tablet monitors are the new ‘in’ toys for all the graphic designers out there and the new Dell Canvas in another addition in the list of “smart workspace”.
Wondering what we are talking about? Well recently at the CES 2017 tech trade show in Las Vegas, Dell unveiled the new Dell Canvas, which is a 27 inch screen you can draw on which acts as a “horizontal smart workspace”.
The Canvas completely revolutionizes the way you work and draw with its 27″ QHD horizontal surface which allows interaction through touch or with its highly precise pen or even through totems (Dell’s version of dials) and easily connects to your monitor. The display comes at 2560 x 1440 resolution which is less than the resolution of 4k Surface Studio which comes in at 4500 x 3000 but is same as the 27 inch Cintiq.
Though the Dell’s Canvas falls short in resolution as compared to Surface Studio, it more than makes it up with its 20 point multi-touch screen which allows multiple people to work on a project at one time as compared to the Surface Studio’s 10 point multi-touch.
Weighing in at around 19-pounds, the Canvas will retail at the $1,799 in the U.S and will be released on March 30th coinciding with the release of Windows 10 Creators Update.
