The new logo for the Olympic Winter Games has been announced! Eurosport, who is the official broadcaster for this event, recently unveiled its logo for the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018.
This event will prove to be a new era for Europe, being the number one sports destination. The event will be broadcasted across the Eurosport screens and platforms and will witness a build-up towards the actual sporting event during PyeongChang 2018.
The logo itself is quite interesting with its design. It combines the PyeongChang logo typeface along with Eurosport wordmark, underpinned by the iconic Olympic rings. These three logos can be seen headed by an arched silhouette mountain – which is basically representing the Winter Games setting while the silhouette represent the shape of the Olympic rings. The logo itself will be seen using a vibrant color palette and the silhouette will be seen coming in several variations.
Commenting on the logo, the CEO of Eurosport, Peter Hulton said: ” As the new Home of the Olympics in Europe and a proud partner of the world’s greatest sporting event, we want ensure Eurosport is synonymous with the Olympic Games at every opportunity. This brand identity represents the spirit of South Korea and we hope will become instantly recognizable to fans as the hallmark of our PyeongChang 2018 programming.”
He also added, “With less than a year to go until PyeongChang 2018, our journey to redefine the Olympic Games experience and reach more people in Europe, across more screens than ever before, is well under way. We are committed to offering fans something truly different, the chance to follow every local hero, every sport and every moment that matters to them. With over half of our broadcast schedule, and two thirds of Olympic sports on our screens, we are perfectly positioned to do this.”
The PyeongChang 2018 will be the most digitalized Olympic Games across all of Europe as Eurosport is planning to broadcast more than 100 live and on demand events, providing access to viewers across all devices any time.
